This already happens to a degree in the US w/out a lot of people realizing it. The Digital Meters on almost all on-grid houses are actually SMART Meters and many people don’t realize they have them. All the rage is now about the “SMART METER” upgrade that is simply deeper tracking and measurement. As it stands now, they cut off our power every time we get high winds they deem to be an emergency or thunderstorms that pose a threat. I am opting out of the upgrade while it’s still being offered over the next couple months and I have to pay 11.oo per month for that privilege.

Not long before they’ll be using smart meters to cut off your electricity if you’re not following the latest official diktat. Wasn’t it the mayor of LA who threatened to cut off utilities (water, I think) to businesses that didn’t follow CV1984 guidelines?
