Trump’s message saying “don’t let the virus take over your life” got 21 million views on TWT. A subsequent message (where he used the C-word) was prefaced by this: “This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the Tweet to remain accessible.” I think the algos on that platform are going crazy; a contact of mine sent a politely worded comment on Italian politics, no mention of the Rona, and it was prefaced by a message saying that it “may contain offensive material”. 🙂

TWT is getting more fussy than one of Agatha Christie’s maiden aunts, the “flag” must have come from Big Pharma:

These tech giants and their online “public squares” really need to be broken up, or legally considered publishers and thus subject to being sued for libel, unless they stop censoring people and labeling their posts as misinformation. (Not holding my breath on any of that happening.) The arrogance of presuming to censor a U.S. president, whether they or anybody else likes him or not, is beyond outrageous if they’re pretending to be a platform for public discussion. Not to mention, what gives them the authority or expertise to decide what is and isn’t “misleading” medical/scientific information?
