I have belatedly heard about this 2011 movie on technocracy gone wild and the hacking thereof:
Disturbingly prescient…
Pretty sure it is available free somewhere on youtube…I saw it recently, and it is a pretty good ‘sci-fi’ movie, with both the plot and the dialogue being higher than the usual Hollywood pap; interestingly, since I was a teenager (almost 68 now), I have entertained the idea that time is the only ‘reward’ that we all share in equal measure…nothing unique in that thinking of course, and I’m sure there are many non fiction as well as fiction books based on such a premise. This film just brought back my thinking on such a topic over the years…an ‘interesting’ reflection. It doesn’t take much of a logical leap, with UBI and such being touted as the next panacea for the general human population (to give us all a degree of ‘freedom’ from economic bondage), to see time as the next reward for ‘work’, or whatever the social contribution we make as citizens of the technocratic republic is defined as. Gain enough social credits and you might be able to travel back and pat a dinosaur perhaps? lol! 🙂
