IMO the problem in America, and the West in general, goes way beyond any election or president. To me, Biden and Trump are symptoms–of profound, pervasive civilizational problems that transcend left/right, religious/secular, Keynesianism/Reaganomics, and all the other things people typically fight over.
I feel like we’re watching a breakdown of (or a well-financed, coordinated, international assault on) the foundational principles of Western civilization as they arose out of the Reformation and Enlightenment. Principles like individuals being allowed to follow their conscience; individuals being born with inalienable rights; governments existing by the consent of the governed; constitutional government; the rule of law. On top of this, we have the U.S. empire following the same pattern all empires have so far followed, and becoming increasingly chaotic as it and its global monetary system are in decline.
No surprise to me that we’ve got one of two major political parties running a literal dementia case as front man.
What we are watching is the deliberate subversion of Western civilization. In my opinion, this explains what’s behind it: https://atlanteangardens.blogspot.com/2019/09/1666-revisited-robert-sepehr.html
I am not crazy about Trump but he is not a dementia case, yet. Shrewd, narcissistic, germaphobe with bad food taste (McDonalds), impetuous, caught between what makes him money and doing the “right thing” but not incapable of thinking. I still can’t decide if his poor choices in swamp creatures is his doing or his control file.
I’m not suggesting that I or anyone else – especially Hillary – could have done a better job, but Trump has failed we the people. Apart from making poor hiring choices, he has failed to restore integrity to the election process and the only people to face law-enforcement consequences for the abuses which took place before, during and after the last elections have been Trump’s own men (like Flynn and Stone). Trump has failed to enforce the constitution or to re-establish the rule of law. I would say that Trump’s main achievements during his first term have been not being assassinated and not starting a new war. It could have been much worse. It should have been much better. Why hasn’t it been? – that’s the question!
To avoid any possible misunderstanding… The dementia case I was referring to was Biden. I don’t know what Trump is. At least he’s, apparently, not stuck on identity politics, lockdowns, and nationwide mask mandates.
LOL .. I LOVE this guy .. Gave me a hearty morning laugh .. Thx for posting Jos 🙂
I do too…he’s so deadpan… He needs to do an entire political poetry series… “The Poetry of (Pick your politician, like Senator Cottonmouth [McConnell]) or Prince Charles…”
