    • I studied Hubbard and his cult deeply for awhile. I find biographics like this very interesting. Scientology has kept its head down since Leah Rimini basically and has shed a lot of membership but is so incredibly wealthy from real estate holdings they probably dont need new members to prop up the top echelon.
As for Hubbard – I came to the conclusion that he might have been subject to military mind control and psychiatry experiments during his failed stint in the Navy. He did write one letter from a military hospital beseeching for help. I now wonder if he and Scientology might not have been a military backed experiment at least in part – Scientology still has tax exempt status which they gained by suing the IRS but also after one important meeting between Miscavage and the IRS in the 80s. If Hubbard was a mind control subject early on, before he so adroitly mind controlled millions himself, it may explain certain fixations, lies, fantasies, megalomaniac behavior and certainly the intense and ongoing hatred for the profession of Psychiatry he made a fundamental doctrine of Scientology.
