I think, in future, people will need to rely on private servers and peer-to-peer networks if they expect to have any semblance of free speech. Not that those things are truly private, unmonitored, or unable to be shut down; but they might be less subject to censorship. We need to fight to keep access to the internet open to all, since that will be the next choke point.

I don’t get why people are so surprised when big corporations like YT work hand-in-hand with the powers-that-be to squash dissenting voices, and when small startups are squashed and harassed by the big guys. That should be expected.
