Wow… this lady pretty well says it all, and sums it up for me (except I came to the “don’t vote” conclusion in 1988 with Bush the Poppy, and only started voting again when Trump decided to run, but other than that, this lady expresses my own sentiments in almost exactly the same words as I have often thought the same thing: https://www.theburningplatform.com/2020/11/07/i-am-done/#more-227723

    • Bet there are many who have similar sentiments and stories. I’m one.
Successful tactic, demoralization of a country.

    • Well…I guess it’s now The U.S. of JeffMaoCracy…as he is now the richest man in the world and has just gathered his other tech buddies from MSFT, et. al. to congratulate President Bolshevik.

      I am done now…

      • Gore was President Elect for 37 days. Sorry the lame stream media can broadcast but not certify an election. The states and courts have a say…ain’t over tell the fat lady sings.

    • I suppose I’m one of the odd-ones-out on this issue because I’m not done fighting back against a System that tries to rule almost every aspect of our lives. Thankfully, I live in a State that generally elects sane, honest people to hold office. We have no state income tax, which is a blessing for us. We get by on a small income, and have been blessed with good health. We prepare our own healthy meals and seldom eat away from home. We have a great extended family with no infighting or feuding, and the list goes on. Sure, there is a long list of problems that swirl all around us, but do not give in to any Hate. A New Civil War is looming on the horizon so stay away from large Metropolitan areas if it is possible. The situation is what it is, but we need to stay strong together, and work for a better future. Stay vigilant and as mentioned above stay away from large metropolitan areas. Keep your thoughts positive, well-directed and pure. Billy Bob wrote some good advice. The states and courts have a say. Think positive thoughts. Stay alert because it ain’t over yet.

    • This woman covers every important point the Democratic Party has refused to understand, which is one reason I can’t support them. Her story represents the experience of tens of millions of Americans, from places like those I’m originally from, which used to be strongly Democrat. I’ve now spent many years on the East and West Coasts, increasingly dismayed as actually privileged, ignorant, self-righteous people look down their noses at the rest of America or simply discount it as irrelevant–those who are aware of its existence at all. This is a very bad, dangerous state of affairs.

I guess I’m lucky in that, from a young age, I never believed in the American Dream, so when it didn’t really materialize for me, I wasn’t shocked. It was plain to see that while my grandparents could and did achieve it, most of my generation wasn’t likely to. I never believed our government, or any other country’s government, really served the bulk of the people or the country.

At this point, I really worry about the future of the U.S. How can a country so deeply divided continue to function? Especially when that division is supported and aggravated by all our major institutions–media, academia, government, entertainment, etc.
