I proposed a similar tax the other day in a comment. However the tax would be assessed on those bureaucrats making $100,000+ a year whose job is to come up with all the rules and regulations for micro managing our socially engineered environment. Working from home or at an office was not a criteria. Tbeir useless production of ideas and data drains the economy. Those poor folks in the $55,000 range who work from home should be able to keep any saved expenses not be penalized or branded.
“Smart” working will mean “smart” firing…
Yes similar to “right to work” meaning right to get fired for no reason.
Working from home is covered by property tax which goes toward state infrastructure.
Tax remote workers for “privilege”–that is rich. I’m with Billy Bob on taxing the high-paid bureaucrats (and BANKERS) who come up with this nonsense.
I propose companies that require people to work at home give their workers a BONUS, to be paid out of the money these companies save on rent and maintenance, as they close or downsize their offices. Remote workers should also be allowed to be REIMBURSED for wear-and-tear to their homes that occurs during the time they carry out their employer’s task in their homes. I further propose that climate-hysteria-spewing governments pay remote workers AN ADDITIONAL BONUS for all the CO2 these workers aren’t generating because, instead of commuting to the office every day, they’re working at home.
This is just virtue-signaling by yet another big corporation, in hopes the BLM crowd doesn’t attempt to cancel them or burn down one of their buildings.
