I spent 10 years in Ann Arbor and, at one point, lived with a radical group of women (one was a devotee to Angela Davis- had gone to school with her at UCLA) and one became a county board member. These were the kind of people who stayed at the forefront of politics in Michigan from the early 1970’s on to today. Hostile? They were proponents of blowing up buildings in the 1960’s and have zero tolerance for anyone who does not think like them. Facts mean nothing. They have used the sizable unemployed Black Community to financially ruin the state and encourage the Cloward-Piven method (which they obviously utilized here) whenever possible.

To be fair, when the riots of the 1967 ended, HUD came in and destroyed the Black Community of Detroit by literally tearing down blocks and dispersing these people everywhere. The Feds played a huge part in creating the rotting system of 2020. It is a mess that will not be remedied easily. Feelings/emotions are strongly anti-government for good reason in Detroit.

Almost every witness relates stories of poll watchers being called names, verbally threatening, etc. Challengers often met with individuals who seemed to appear from no where to harass them, supervisors refusing to recognize a challenge, threatened poll watcher with arrest or being thrown out. Often if a poll watcher was removed the room “cheered.”
