The relativity of “the science”: Mentioned to my doc that I know a specialist who was taking hydroxychloroquine to prevent Covid. Doc says, “He must be a Trumper.” OK… I guess the science depends on who you vote for!

So we’re now in world where an otherwise excellent doctor can be so blinded by politics that scientific objectivity goes out the window?

I’m reminded of CAF’s story about how she had to go through her rolodex and throw out most of the names; a few medical professionals may need to leave my rolodex. I take inspiration from CAF’s story, though, as she’s now better off and today gets to work with intelligent, good people.

    • A excellent reasonably priced plumber can make stupid remarks too, no need to not use his services. The good doctor not knowing the reason why all therapeutics had to be suppressed in order to obtain special status for the vaccine process is cause for concern. Obviously he goes along to get along and keep his license and protect his income stream.

      • Hey guess what?,,, just because the word “doctor” is connected to some ones name does not mean that person is always right.

        • thank you for sharing this incident. One thing i learned while studying Scientology as a cult (NOT in it, protesting it lol) and other cults is that the human brain is way too easily entrainable, and intelligence has nothing to do with it actually. That weird Japanese cult that spread the toxins on the subway? They were all highly intelligent academics, engineers, experts in something. In fact that cult leader discriminated and ONLY allowed very useful highly educated people into his bizarre apocolyptic death cult.
It has something to do with vulnerability to psychodrama, the intense desire for “usualness”, idealism of some kind and mental inflexibility – probably has something to do with too highly developed egotism as well. Strange brew.

            • Interesting comparison–I wasn’t aware of the story of that Japanese cult. I should’ve remembered that people can be highly intelligent or educated, and still be brainwashed or nuts… The Nazis were ample proof of that.

                • Another one was the Heaven’s Gate cult who killed themselves so they could ride on the Hale Bopp comet? something like that. Those guys were clearly committed, not cynical, and were all cyber experts and tech heads who wrote programs and websites commercially to pay for the cult.

              • I wouldn’t trust ANY doctor, no matter who they were, if they do not give a fair hearing to BOTH sides of the science on covid and the vaccine.

                • Call me cynical, but hasn’t science always been political, at least since Galilei’s time? Science is just another tool in the toolbox of those who have controlled, manipulated and harvested humanity since the beginning, like politics, religion, finance, education and the law.

                    • … Scientism (what unfortunately passes for Science nowadays) is an ideology. Science as inquiry stands alone. The results of inquiry can and are, in most cases used, but what use is made of that inquiry depends on you and me.

                        • And in this case, the ONLY reason for using a vaccine, especially an experimental one, is, by definition, if there is no reasonable existing antidote. FiatLux started out with asking about that preventative and Herr Doktor apparently is ignorant of that fact. Back to Dr. Farrell’s answer – don’t trust any guy with an MD behind his name if he doesn’t ask questions or at least know the definition of what he is prescribing.

                            • As they say: it’s as easy to corrupt a scientist as it is a politician.

                                • I totally agree. In this case, however, I know the doctor well, and I’m convinced he didn’t say what he said for financial reasons. He sincerely believed what he was saying. He’s letting his medical judgment be skewed by politics, which is even more frightening to me than a scientist being bribed to tell a lie.

                                  • FiatLux, just goes to show how clever and effective the Control, Manipulate & Harvest mechanism is, doesn’t it?
