    I’ve been contemplating the role of Human Resource departments in businesses, corporations etc and I was suddenly struck by the similarity to the model of empires and kingdoms. History is replete with examples of a dual authority , one being temporal and the other, at least ostensibly, dealing with spiritual matters. HR’s provide and enforce, again ostensibly, a new age, humanistic ” morality ” or ethics to these soulless entities. The more things change…..

    • If we had an evolved society, HR would be unnecessary. As it stands, HR is tasked with finding and implementing methods of harnessing the capability of the workforce toward corporate (owner) goals via ‘voluntary’ compliance and if they’re really good at their jobs, through workforce engagement or differently stated, by creating a community that the majority feels a sense of belonging and responsibility that is greater than their own self-interest.
