Welcome to 2021…. This bill has yet to be voted on in New York, it has been prefiled for Jan. 6th. Summary, Relates to the removal of cases, contacts and carriers of communicable diseases that are potentially dangerous to the public health. Deals with detainment and authority to release. Looks like they want this an active law on the 30th. I’m posting this simply for the link, for anyone wanting to follow up on this, or keep an eye on it. https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/bills/2021/a416

    • I thank my lucky stars every day that I no longer live in NYS.

      • Never thought I’d live to see the day when gov’t would even dare try such a thing. (Did you find this in the news?) I encourage everyone who’s interested and able, to fight this tyranny tooth and nail. If nothing else, consider making a donation–even just $1–to crowdfunding legal efforts such as those at solari: https://donations.solari.com

          • Or directly to the Children’s Health Defense.

              • … I think that good argument could be made that participating in “crowdfunding” (a euphemism) , at least in certain legal situations, serves to enable the very system (circular reasoning works because circular reasoning works … ad infinitum – Aaahh fallacy, sweet fallacy thou truly art the Turkish Delight [or here in the South we would say the Divinity] of reasoning) that is at least part of the reason that we find ourselves in our most recent unpleasantness. An aside … if you disapprove of my use of the term “Turkish Delight” as being politically incorrect then you also must quarrel with C. S. Lewis. “Truly art … aaahh yes … that reminds me … “Truly thou art damned, like an ill-roasted egg, all on one side.” It occurs to me that Act 3, Scene 2 from As You Like It might shed some light on our most recent unpleasantness.
While Utilitarianism certainly has its faults there may be cases where that kind of analysis has its place. To paraphrase Linda Richman “I’ve given you a topic. Talk amongst yourselves.”

                  • There may be an argument for complete non-participation in the system. In my own view, circumstances are so potentially dire that every nonviolent means of pushback than can be used must be used, whether inside or outside the system, whether spiritual or material.

I also feel that donating a even a token amount adds important “energy” or “intention” to the battle.

                      • Well stated! ‘Non-Compliance’ needs to be the foremost defense against Tyranny, as well as other means as you suggested

                  • No I did not find it in the news. And it probably wont be in the news. Note the date on the bill, 01/06, the deadline on the vote of the electoral college. Coincidence? Not likely.
