    Pre-crime labeling begins with children – this is both an affront to decency and an attack on the vulnerable and innocent. Every event like this compounds the outrage. I can hear the tines of pitchforks being sharpened.

      Just as bad, or worse, teachers have a way of labeling students BEFORE they get in class by listening to the opinions of previous “educators”, thereby prejudging them and perpetuating the behavior and performance. Thus, the public school teachers help to create criminal branding. (Speaking as a former middle school teacher).

          There is much judging that has and is going on in all areas of life – such a shame.
          Our educational system (and pretty much every other existing system) needs a complete overhaul in my view. (my Mother is a retired teacher who cared for her students as if they were her own children)

            Reminds me of a rural school district where I once worked. During new teacher orientation, we were loaded in a bus and driven around the district to view the homes of some students and were told stories about their families and about their personal negative interactions at school. It was appalling.
