Leonard Bernstein The Unanswered Question Harvard Lectures: 3 Musical Semantics

    • Link is for the Beethoven symphony 6 conductor LEONARD BERNSTEIN missing in presentation.

        • Thanks Billy Bob.
Is it just me or are the sets (colors and architecture) for these performances off-putting to you too? Perhaps this Vivaldi performance with Janine Jansen spoiled me. The set has warmth and the artists give me the feeling that they’ve joined with the music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzE-kVadtNw

            • The lectures were instructive on how the symphony music is composed. I posted the link to Sixth performance since it was not included as were others in other lectures. My knowledge of music is rather rudimentary. Other than how it affects me when hearing it I know not. I have been to small jazz sessions and observed how the musician and the music become one, as well as bringing the observers into their fold. Remarkable.

                • I do find much value in the lectures. Thanks again for posting the performance linked to the lecture.
You have stated the ‘joining’ of music, musicians and audience beautifully.
