Here is a very simply stated article as to why wind turbines work here in the north. Ron Paul mentioned in a recent Liberty Report that maintenance was not completed on the turbines in Texas this year. I am not good at remembering numbers, but I believe he stated that only 17 per cent of the turbines had been winterized. Now whether this was due to sick personell, lack of funds, or a combination of factors, we can now see the power failure is the results of deferred maintenance. https://www.syracuse.com/business/2021/02/why-wind-turbines-in-new-york-state-keep-working-in-bitter-cold-weather-unlike-the-ones-in-texas.html

    • In addition to maintenance issues, according to the article they also lacked certain cold-weather equipment. “In Texas, wind turbines are not equipped with such de-icing packages because operators there never expected to need them, Kurt said.”
Thanks for the article Katherine; that clarified some things.

        • This issue was clearly covered in the video I posted with Glen Beck and the Texas State Attorney General

            • Sorry RLS, I missed that one. 🙁

                • No big deal PiPoe its probably a good idea to get as many view points as possible and not to get sucked into any particular echo chamber about anything . A saying pilots have ” fly with your head out of the cockpit”. have a great day.

            • Because of deregulation of power companies, keep in mind the actual power generating facilities are separate from the owners of the power grid distribution network. The power plants and wind turbines are owned by the multinational companies. Most “Electric Companies” are no more then power distribution grid companies. The own the grid but have purchase electricity from the power plants. The maintenance and purchase decisions of wind turbines, including what features they have, are made by the multinational companies who own the plants, and you know who they obey. The power plants used to be owned locally but deregulation allowed them to be sold off leaving power companies owning only their grid. Electricity has to be purchased from the plant owners.
The electric on my home comes on the power grid owned by the Magic Valley Electric Cooperative. They do not own any power plants just the electric grid that brings to the house.

                • Great way to organize electricity provision, eh? Good grief… Is there an industry left that hasn’t been screwed up by consolidation, financialization, and globalization??

                    • Too many desperate greedy MBA’s willing to do what ever it takes to make the bottom line look good.

                        • Wasn’t the idea behind MBA’s that it would help people become entrepreneurs? And aren’t most successful businesses run by people without an MBA??

                            • marketed as that perhaps in the beginning later as something to add to one’s skill set in order to advance up the multinational corporate ladder.
