Today’s grocery shopping trip marked the first time Without face diaper for who knows how long. I was confronted at the entry by a store employee with one in hand as she spoke her speech, “We require a face mask.” I said, “No you don’t, not according to your corporate office.” She dropped her arm and walked away. HEB is a chain store based out of San Antonio, TX, who is on record admonishing customers to wear one “to protect our employees and other customers”’ but not denying service. Employees and all vendors must wear one. On the way out I remarked to couple of younger employees, “Hopefully some day, you too will be free.” They both smiled with their eyes. How sad.
Everyone else was wearing one. Wonder why, except for the greeter lying at the entrance…and the fear embedded in the customers.

A scenario… A ‘Karen’ turns in someone, that someone is penalized (pick your penalty), that someone’s family gets angry, that someone’s family then seeks vengeance (or simply to prevent a recurrence) and does something to the ‘Karen’, then the ‘Karen’s family gets angry and…
Vicious circle of viciousness. War between the states? Who needs that when you can foment a war within families and neighbors.
One thing on the “what can be done” list: Start thinking about ways you can be self-employed, or how you might be able to set up a small business with like-minded individuals. Working for most of the companies that are going to survive the lockdowns will almost certainly require masks and repeated injections.
Survive by design.
