Out for morning dog walk with Pluto, found an abandoned children’s paper back book in the gutter. I, lover of books, reached down to check it out. Shook the oak leaves out of the pages, opened cover and there scrawled in a child’s beginning print was the owners name—-William R— no last name. That is my name! The book was titled, Goosebumps, by R L Stone, published in 1997 by Scholastic Press. Ummm, their motto” the stories you read make youths person you are”.

    • Hey Billy Bob,
Good afternoon once again to you and Pluto,
This sounds like a message from God or what Carl Jung called “synchronicity”. Any way we look it, it’s amazing and a perfect way to start off the week. “GooseBumps”!!!

      • Correction: their motto” the stories you read make you the person you are”. Some of their material is a bit dodgy.

        • P.S. back of book has an order form to order more “Scare me, thrill me, mail me GOOSEBUMPS now! It was filled out evidently by the original owner with various items selected. Jason Duda 4218 N Ridgeway Chicago IL 60618 Age 11. I live in south Texas. The book was published in 1997. Quite a journey and history. A quick search of name in Chicago pulled up a court case in 2005 involving three males for possession and distribution of marijuana (two packages were intercepted by a narco police and delivered by one dressed as delivery driver. They inserted a sensor in the boxes to detect when the boxes were opened or moved) at a business on LaSalle St. One appealed his conviction because the other two received 24 months probation including a Jason Duda, while he got six years in jail. There is also a Duda law firm on LaSalle street listed…um. Drug running from south Texas to Chicago?
