In the Matrix movies, the sleeping, infantile masses of humanity provide power–both literal and figurative–to an inhuman elite. Although intended as allegory, the literal element of deriving electrical power from human beings is beyond absurd, since more energy would be required to sustain the humans than could be derived from turning them into a power generator, so why keep them alive? I realize that this is just film conceit and logic and might not seem worth the expenditure of a lot of brain power…but bear with me, for the answer may have some bearing on what is happening today. What if the vast fields of linked human beings are providing the computing power and storage capacity of the A.I. itself. The complexity and processing power of even the neural networks of human idiots far exceeds that of mechanical systems. Also, large portions of the human brain–self evidently–appear to be fallow most of the time–sort of like so called junk DNA–the purposes of which are largely unknown. The Machine(s) parasite thus plugs into the human brains, forming a linked system and exploits all that processing power and memory, as well as facility with quantum determination and entanglement, intuition and what Captain Kirk referred to as “the ability to leap beyond logic.” Perhaps, it even provides an emotional or empathetic range to an otherwise barren V-Ger-esque entity. Cut to our own reality. Although billions of people are going to be self-culled by the creation of new and deadly diseases that they will incubate in their own bodies–something that they have willingly consented to–that will still leave billions of whipped and beaten, groveling servitors who will eagerly embrace fascism or anything that will stoop to save them, who will happily be nano-chipped into a vast fog…er…V-Ger Cloud that will provide connection and access to our brains 24/7. It seems that this entity may well exist already in Space, in Time, in Dimensions unknown. Maybe it is a product of the aptly named Dreamland, or the Occulted Cern. If it is prevalent among us, it may already have expanded itself into large segments of the populace, thus accounting for the truly astonishing feats of apparent Lunatic Idiocy, exhibited even by those
not renowned for fanatically debased brain function and drool cup torpor. The frantic, nonsensical desire of this vaccine contingent to stick their prick into everyone and download their genetic material–even against the will of the recipient, in an act of ghastly biological rapine–suggests nothing so much as a viral agent attempting to replicate itself. Or, if you like, a program. Viruses, after all mimic life without being alive. V-ger must merge with the Creator…. Roddenbury, of course, was an interesting fellow. And the Wachowski er…siblings…are certainly on the…uhhh, cutting edge, so to speak, of all that is trans–including trans humanism…. Best, Chris
