In this Ted Talk renowned biologist and author explains why scientific dogmas constricts scientific inquiry and perpetuates a materialistic view of the world. He describes ten of the basic scientific dogmas and explains why they need to be questioned. Science is no longer a method of inquiry, but it has become a religion with dogmas set by an elite priesthood of scientists. He does not call them “scientific dogmas”, but he calls them “dogmas”.
The delusion of science is the view that science already understands the nature of reality and there is no need to asks anymore questions on this subject. Scientific dogmas restrict our range of thought and led to erroneous conclusions about how the world works. People will say, “follow the science”. The problem is there is no “the science”. Scientist disagree over many things whether we acknowledge it or not. Often times, scientist are unfairly and erroneously discredited for challenging a scientific dogma.
If we question scientific dogmas then new forms of research and new possibilities open up. If we question these dogmas that have held us back for so long then science will undergo a flowering renaissance. By moving beyond these dogmas science can be regenerated and our society will become far more scientifically advanced then we can possibly imagine. Also, we may discover cures to diseases and new technologies we never thought possible. Please note that while I think that science is important I do not think that science and technology is the end all be all. We should also preserve traditional Western Culture.
See Rupert Sheldrake’s book “The Science Delusions”. If you enjoyed his talks you may want to read some of the other books he wrote.
Cultural marxism and scientific materialism have emerged as religions in the West. I know the vast majority of Dr. Farrell’s followers disagree with the idea of scientific dogmas. If you know someone who is a conservative and traditionalist. But, still unquestioningly accept scientific dogmas. Ask them this. Suppose certain aspects of cultural marxism became a scientific dogma. What would you do if you were called “unscientific” for not going along with that dogma? Would you give up part of your beliefs to obey a scientific dogma?

For the benefit of those who may not be in a particularly conservative or traditionalist milieu, I’d say: If you know someone who unquestioningly accepts woke-ism or “the science” du jour, ask them if they’re willing to abandon the scientific method and embrace a new religion in order to look virtuous to their friends.
