To add to my anecdote I mentioned in last night’s vidchat, I’ve noticed something peculiar. As people might guess, my home is filled with music when I have the time. Mostly the two great Bachs, Buxtehude, Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Widor, even some Beethoven on occasion. But lately I’ve been noticing little Shiloh “singing” along quietly, with little whines or yelps, sometimes wagging her curly-cue tail if she’s particularly happy. I don’t know if she’s just picking up my moods, or something in the music itself, and I strongly suspect the latter, because she ONLY does this to the music of of the two great Bachs, and especially JS, and no one else. I’ve caught her doing it to the Passacaglia and double fugue during which she was incomparably sad during the Passacaglia, and became progressively more happy and animated during the fugue, and then again tonight while I was listening to BWV 51 and a live performance by the Bach Stiftung and yelping along during the first aria and wagging the curly-cue tail. Add to this parrots that make up perfect grammatically correct sentences of English they’ve never heard before, and then using it in the correct context(I have a witness!), makes me go “Hmmmm……. “
