Joseph recently mentioned the issue of undersea communications cables. And by the way, there is heavy concentration of such cables in the Red Sea and Suez. One speculation is that the now-freed ship was deviated from its proper route to avoid damaging them.

    And by the way, most of the internet flows are hidden: the “public” internet is congested with CERN data, and then there is the “dark web”. Certain parties would probably be willing to undertake extreme measures to read or interrupt such traffic.
