      Cicero as “Fake News”, well, I think I’ve heard it all. Caesar as the “Saviour” of the debt crisis? He would know, considering he was a part of those who generated that national debt, but more importantly, he had large amounts of personal debt that he was never going to be able to pay back barring some newfound migrant pillaging opportunity. A dictatorship (I understand the context of this temporary appointment) better than a Republic? Uhhh, I doubt that, very much! It’s not that Republics descend into Oligarchies, all democratic systems are de facto Oligarchies, the one cannot be separated from the other.

                Julius Caesar fought the Gallic Wars to pay off his massive debts with vast amounts of loot. He also boosted his political career. The hecatombs of Gaul men, women, children Gaul enabled Rome to secure the natural border of the Rhine river.
                Gaul had breached Rome’s Italian borders a few times in previous years. Severing the right hand of tens of thousands of male Gauls was a most visible propaganda and assurance of Rome’s total war against its enemies. Babylon’s Banksters drank their fill of blood of Gaul’s genocided tribes.
