A recent study by John Ioannidis at Stanford adjusts the infection fatality rate (IFR) of COVID19 from 0.23% (previous estimate) to 0.15%. It is now almost identical to the IFR of the flu.
“the available evidence suggests average global IFR of ~0.15% and ~1.5-2.0 billion infections by February 2021 with substantial differences in IFR and in infection spread across continents, countries, and locations.” -Feb 2021
