I stopped spending much time at the beach towards the end of our time there. The low frequency communications made it very uncomfortable for me to put my feet on the sand. San Onofre had a fairly significant leak that went pretty much unreported for a while, which is why it finally got shut down. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were low level radioactive emissions going on for a very long time. Smart little sandcrabs! And who is GT?
