A tidbit: Walter Bosley on Spielberg’s “Close Encounters” and its relation with the Pinocchio story (1 hr)

    • I’ve never watched ‘Close Encounters’ (parents wouldn’t let me & I never got around to it) and it’s interesting that the ET’s communicated with music. The Indonesians once belived that music was the best way to send complex messages to the gods and used a metal percussion instrument called a gamelan.
(Here’s an early vinyl recording of gamelan music https://youtu.be/WNTIqr5Fu04 ).

It’s also worth noting that Spielberg and George Lucas were friends & collaborators, most notably on the ‘Indiana Jones’ films. To reiterate what Dr. Farrell discussed in ‘Cosmic War’, it seems Lucas may have had sone inside information on certain moons of Jupiter. Anthropologist, Joseph Campbell was also highly influential to the first ‘Star Wars’ film.
