Mind reading could be described as rude, intrusive, the ultimate hack. On the other hand, it is said that beings of higher consciousness communicate telepathically, live in truth and integrity, their thoughts and feelings read by those with whom they communicate. Given the swamp of lies and secrecy in which we live, that sounds like a breath of fresh air to me.
