When a man slaps another man’s face, in the by gone days when men were not toxic, it meant a gun duel. Some how I can’t see that happening with these two.

Well, in a way, it did happen in that the purpose of duelling was to demonstrate your willingness to risk your life in order to restore your honor. Although, strictly speaking, Macron was only being challenged to a duel, you could argue (given Macron’s armed close protection detail) that Macron’s challenger did risk his life in making the challenge!

Good point. The honor of the Men of France has been insulted by Macron. Yes the man demonstrated more guts then I would have in the situation.

There is also some other “high octane” out there: this was not a “slap” but more like an attempt to “scratch”…. think some unpleasant substance applied to a fake fingernail.

Interesting. Reminds me of the Bulgarian dissident, Georgi Markov, who died after being jabbed on the back of the leg by a ricin-tipped umbrella while waiting for a bus on Waterloo Bridge in London in 1978. I’m quite surprised that Macron’s security detail did not whisk him off somewhere for a thorough check.
