      I see the real motive behind some of these “woke” decisions, being a sleight of hand where these artifacts may indeed find themselves shuffled off to a private collection.

          Excellent point, as, in ancient times, such sculptures would merely have had their noses( and maybe also beards) cut off. Also, their ‘temples’ would have been demolished. Thus, as you say, moved from one museum to another. Mars?
