    Agreed. Weren’t the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings ritual sacrifices?
    The author failed to make two, in my opinion, highly pertinent observations:
    1. Hiroshima and Nagasaki were home to Japan’s two largest Christian communities; and
    2. 6th August is The Feast of The Transfiguration.

      Precisely… and that in Nagasaki they used the Mother of God Cathedral as their target for dropping the atomic bomb.

      During Japan’s “Edo Period” (1600-1868) it was a closed country under military dictatorship, rather like North Korea is today. Christianity was illegal and the death penalty applied to even minor “offences” – and yet Christianity survived, in secret.
