Why the Left Hates The Lord of the Rings
“As recent American political events have demonstrated, the modern political Left can no longer be seen as making any legitimate contribution to philosophy, culture, politics, society, and so on. They have essentially embraced a type of political schizophrenia which has no real relation to the actual classical Leftist theory to which they pay lip service, only pretending to abide by the ideology’s original insights. The political Left of the modern Western world is essentially a rationalization for all that is evil today. It is for this reason that, as many have noticed, Tolkien’s masterwork has come under fire for themes which run contrary to the corruption and decadence that has overthrown our society.”

Straw men? There is not even a token effort to show that “the left” does indeed hate LotR, or regards orcs as an analogue for black people. I have heard the obvious connection between the Haradim and Arab/Muslim world spoken about before, but the rest of it is weapons grade baloney.
Factual errors? LotR was written between 1937 and 1949, well before mass immigration to the UK from India (or the Caribbean) really began(mostly in the 50s and 60s). In 1949, the UK was literally still on food rations. The British Nationality Act of 1948 had not had time to work before the book was finished.
As for hypocrisy, in a historically unprecedented move, the Republican party literally had no official policies during the 2020 election. The platform and policies were whatever Trump said they were on any given day. Then you have January 6th. Calling the left chaotic in the face of that seems a bit rich.
This article literally claims political ownership of the concepts of virtue and brotherly love!
