Interesting bit about the “disappearing” of Polar exploration material from German museums in the ’60s.

This an interesting article; in exploring its topic it touches on quite a few of the areas explored in vidchats etc. such as creating a field of attraction, social engineering via language and naming… Strange topic but I think illuminating.

Cara Mia! Mai insoma! E’ molto strano.

Yes, very strange. It was published in 2000…. 17 years ago. What is interesting to me are the parallels the author draws between transgender and this obsession to amputate. Also interesting how he talks about how the “diagnosis” is created by the attention focused on it and how the internet magnifies this effect. Lots of observations are rel…[Read more]

That was interesting, but really it’s just the same old story of the ikonothetes vs. the ikonoclasts. Both become semantic contagions when there is no adaptive process to ameliorate the “distress” involved in the old game of competence vs. deviance. If you’re seen as more deviant then society as a whole views you as less competent. That people…[Read more]

Ok did not read article , because of your ample description. ‘Social engineering, transgender, The Atlantic.’ Psyop IMHO. Gracie tan to 🤗

Over the past few days I’ve been re-listening to the Forum Borealis interviews with Joseph on The Cosmic War, and with Cliff High on Antarctica. Some here think that Al is a great interviewer and I have to agree. I don’t think he took a course on interviewing, but that he is very well read, and so comes naturally. We rarely get this quality of…[Read more]

Who was Pamela Churchill? The story of Sir Winston’s daughter-in-law, “the greatest courtesan of the century”, who later went on to pair up with members of the US oligarchy and support Bill Clinton’s first presidential campaign. NB There are other less polite synonyms for “courtesan”…

Removing the statistical quantum mechanical “noise” of the universe by “squeezing light”. Hmmm. What else might they use it for?
“The sensitivity of all interferometric gravitational-wave detectors (LIGO, Virgo, and GEO600) to the ripples of space-time from large cosmic events is fundamentally limited by quantum mechanical effects. They cause a b…[Read more] -

Apropos of our musical discussions in the post-chat this evening, here’s the Prelude and Double Fugue in D Minor by Johann Ludwig Krebs (JS Bach’s last student and the one he was quite proud of). I call the fugue the “Fugue to end all Fugues”: a double fugue in three sections ,(Kind of a sonata-fugue, like J.S. Bach’s “Wedge”) Subject in the first…[Read more]
