While “free Tibet” is largely a scam, this does not mean that Chinese rule has created a “workers’ paradise”; so going from feudalism to communism does not seem like much progress, though objectively there have been certain improvements, such as education (at least in cities and towns).

Perhaps more interesting is the slant of The Gaurdian newspaper’s article covering it. Of all the items they highlight, they select Turing’s dislike for “America”.
Are they “messaging” something for the British Labor Party (for which they are often a mouthpiece)… or does this run deeper and is the story on behalf of the secret service or the monarchy?
