Just an aside on what those Japanese priests are doing: in Buddhism it is not the image or idol that should be revered, but the essence of Buddha teachings that the representation might convey. Having said that, I would NOT put that robot in my own temple (if I had one).

While I’m pretty sure that the “crisis” will be overcome, here is a little summany. The issue is the completion of a long tunnel to connect Turin and Lyon with a freight line (technically NOT high speed). There are contrasting analyses as to the economic advantages, and the people in the Alpine valley concerned have been campaigning against it for…[Read more]

Refreshing to see at least one European country acting rationally. Eurasia offers trade. All that the USA offers its European vassals is war, sacrifice and austerity. It’s a neaux-brainer. The SWIFT alternative offers some hope; but, really, when will Europe stop digging? I suppose, when the rest of the world has de-dollarized enough to deprive…[Read more]

“Governments, if they endure, always tend increasingly toward aristocratic forms. No government in history has been known to evade this pattern. And as the aristocracy develops, government tends more and more to act exclusively in the interests of the ruling class — whether that class be hereditary royalty, oligarchs of financial empires, or e…[Read more]

Mining in Antarctica supposedly does not take place due to a treaty, but since when have treaties been respected to the letter? And what is really going on down there? And all the alleged technical difficulties – with or without ice sheet melting – pale into insignificance compared to asteroid mining, which is being touted as a concrete…[Read more]

Tidbit from Wiki: “Alunite is a hydrated aluminium potassium sulfate mineral, formula KAl3(SO4)2(OH)6. It was first observed in the 15th century at Tolfa, near Rome, where it is mined for the manufacture of alum. First called aluminilite by J.C. Delamétherie in 1797, this name was contracted by François Beudant three decades later to a…[Read more]

Of course this is an area where we will probably never get 100% documented proof; there are a lot of parties “in the know” who for various reasons – whether complicity, blackmail or to havr “bargaining chips” – do not disclose much of anything.
