Excellent idea, but you are assuming that real estate interests may actually have something CULTURAL in mind. In one of these videos a local church has bought the mall to use it as a community centre. Since malls are suburbia’s (now failed) attempt to replace “main street”, they could and should have a role.

Well I don’t think that people would be travelling to Dubai just to get a tooth filling. The “offshore” location can be a screen for a variety of activities not possible elsewhere…

Off topic on the issue of the Fitzgerald. In examining the damage photos, YT blogger “rufuscat” has remarked on the highly evident rust streaks on the hull. This could be a sign of inadequate maintenance.

Compelling listening

Call me suspicious, but these moves are VERY convenient to Germany and recalls the “Regionalised Europe” policy. Isn’t it strange that despite centuries-old local traditions, no independence movements seem to get off the ground Germany, and many there would repeat the Anschluss at the drop of a hat.

This wealthy chain-store owner may just be an agent for somebody else, exploited for his Biblical obsessions by others who know more. In the meantime, he has had the tablets in his possession for 7 years – the theft was in 2010 – time to photograph them and maybe have some translated.
