My former English teacher, at the Rome high school I attended, has passed away at the age of 98: thanks to him I have truly been able to “own the language and the culture”!

I HAVE to comment here… this USA-as-corporation and voluntary tax stuff has been around for a VERY long time, before von Reitz got into it. The IRS has repeatedly stated that paying the income tax is voluntary. But you will get no help from them on how to un-volunteer. It is not in their interests to do so.

I periodically re-read my well-worn copies of the books, but have never been able to “connect” with the movies. Though admittedly the music is nice.

Agree with that Dana. The guest interviewed seems to be drawing from the books. They do however use images from the movie as slides to discuss key events. I found it interesting and will likely dust off The Fellowship of the Ring.

I read those in college and again just after grad school. I imagine I should go out and buy them all again as I have moved far too many times since then. I got pretty good at writing in elfin at one point in college as I had a friend who also wrote and read it and we would send letters to each other. It does seem appropriate to read the books again now.
