Daniel Best, the man Trump put in charge of slashing drug prices, has died. If I’m connecting the dots correctly, he only lasted 1 week. I have not been able to identify the cause of death yet.

Well today I’m trying to do a little special video…
-
… possibly a duet with E. Power Biggs? 🙂 … preferably the Gigue from the French Suites No. 5. Natalie was able to perform with King Cole. This would be technology put to a good use.

lol…. not so lucky… for one thing, remember that it’s been more than thirty years since I’ve touched the instrument.

Hold your arms up towards the sky .. see the clouds .. feel the breeze and know that a new day has been created JUST for you .. Breathe .. take it all in .. Embrace it with gratitude .. The present ..It is a gift ..There is still SO much beauty…[Read more]

I am happy to report practice progress… last week was an unmitigated disaster, and I narrowly avoided legal action by the Dead Organists and Composers Organization (DORCO) and the American Society to Prevent the Spread of Pianism in Baroque Keyboard Music, and to make matters worse, Youth for Up with Clavichords and Harpsichords (YUCH) called…[Read more]

Cleaning up from hurricane Florence. Direct hit here on NC coast . We are lucky compared to many of our neighbors. Everyone has damage ,schools are still closed. Spring has returned many trees and plants re blooming. Leaves got blown off from the hurricane, now sprouting flowers and leaves. Nice

Ok… I hesitate posting this, because most of the performances are just awful. But one of my all time favorite sinfonias from the cantatas is Number nine here, which, thankfully, is a GOOD performance. So click on the youtube link, then click on “show More” then click on the link for number nine:

One of my favorite’s from J.S. Bach Harpsichord Concerto No.1 in D minor, BWV 1052 – I. Allegro
-
Yes one of mine as well, this is actually based on two sinfonias from his cantatas, which just shows once again that he had little mental boundaries in his noggin between sacred and secular music. Here’s the sinfonia version from BWV 146 of the first movement: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MORa0Y98Z1o&t=57s
