Well, it’s been two weeks today (Monday the 18th) since I brought little Shiloh home, and I thought I’d do a little update. So far, she reports that overall my training is going well, and that I am doing much better about letting her take me for a walk every two hours so she can sniff at all sorts of wonderful scents, roll in the grass, and snap at bugs. She does report, however, that she is disappointed that I am not rolling in the grass with her. On other fronts, she reports she remains somewhat confused as to when she gets treats, and where she is to do her booboos, although she happily reports that she much prefers the grass in the back yard, rather than the bathroom floor. On that occasion, she notes that I for some inexplicable reason put her in the bathroom while I disappeared to the accompaniment of the front door opening and closing, and strange, mechanical noises. She notes that I DID leave her doggie bed in the bathroom, which proved to be quite useful when she boobooed, and had to cover up the evidence by moving the doggie bed over the booboo. Sadly, she reports that the human creature (me) discovered this deception and blatant attempt to bury the evidence. She also reports that she hates the dry dogfood, while the human creature seems stubbornly fixated upon it, but she is proud to announce her diplomatic skills – the guilty look, the baneful and sad whine, the wagging tail – has forced a compromise of wet dogfood mixed with the dry, though recent attempts to increase the ratio of the latter to the former have proven to be unsuccessful.
