Well, it’s been two weeks today (Monday the 18th) since I brought little Shiloh home, and I thought I’d do a little update. So far, she reports that overall my training is going well, and that I am doing much better about letting her take me for a walk every two hours so she can sniff at all sorts of wonderful scents, roll in the grass, and snap at bugs. She does report, however, that she is disappointed that I am not rolling in the grass with her. On other fronts, she reports she remains somewhat confused as to when she gets treats, and where she is to do her booboos, although she happily reports that she much prefers the grass in the back yard, rather than the bathroom floor. On that occasion, she notes that I for some inexplicable reason put her in the bathroom while I disappeared to the accompaniment of the front door opening and closing, and strange, mechanical noises. She notes that I DID leave her doggie bed in the bathroom, which proved to be quite useful when she boobooed, and had to cover up the evidence by moving the doggie bed over the booboo. Sadly, she reports that the human creature (me) discovered this deception and blatant attempt to bury the evidence. She also reports that she hates the dry dogfood, while the human creature seems stubbornly fixated upon it, but she is proud to announce her diplomatic skills – the guilty look, the baneful and sad whine, the wagging tail – has forced a compromise of wet dogfood mixed with the dry, though recent attempts to increase the ratio of the latter to the former have proven to be unsuccessful. Stay tuned for further press releases.

LOL .. that was GREAT Joseph .. Thanks for the update ..
Dogs are great fun when you have the space they need to be happy :=) Why that particular name Joseph? According to what I’ve read, YWYH beat the whoop-da out of Shiloh.. 🙂 Jeremiah 7:12-15
The ladies at the adoption agency named her that, and it is a Hebrew word from same the root as “shalom”, or “peace,” and is viewed by some as the reference to the “messenger of peace,” i.e., the Messiah, or Christ. I thought “peace” was an apt name for her, and kept it, and also because this little dog was clearly abused in her past, and kept her sweet disposition, so I kept the name. It suits her. She had been passed from shelter to shelter (beginning with a shelter completely out of this state), and hadn’t been adopted. So I figured why make her learn yet another new thing, like a new name. So, again, I kept the name.
Its a very sweet thing you’re doing, for the dog and I know she’ll be a loyal friend.
When researching into the start of Isreal, I learnt that Shiloh was the name of the place where the Isrealites set up shop before making the first Temple.. As far as I could see. It tranlasted to Pleasentville 🙂 I wish you both many happy head scratchings (that can go for the human as well as the dog :)) and long slow walks.
I swirl some pieces of dry dog food around in a plate. bowl or pan I used to prepare my food. It’s enough to entice Beauregard. Beau is a rescue I got in July 2017. So now, I have gizars and Beau. Just kidding; I have family and friends but this is Ca folks.
Shiloh is now a registered card carrying celebrity, so Joseph, how long before she gets her own facebook page and twitter account ??
She IS working on that…
A good report! BTW, I wonder if some brewer’s yeast sprinkled on her dry food might make it more tasty?
Well, I might try it, but wonder if yeast will hurt dogs?

Dr. Farrell adopting a puppy is one of the best things ever. I was so glad when I first heard about it!
