AAAAUUUGGGGHHHH. I put sticky notes in my books as tabs but I consider my books to be too important for me to be defacing them. I hate buying used books, often the only available, with someoneās version of āideasā written in them.

I’m with Wu Wu on this one – I also annotate some books with a light soft pencil, but for more detailed notes I tend to use a post-it tab (not the big square jobbies, but the thin strips) to mark the page and cross-referenced with my notebooks – each subject I have a serious interest in has it’s own notebook.

Inventing the Middle Ages by Norman F. Cantor (if your not aware of it) is a good book. It has a chapter titled “The Oxford Fantasists”, covering C.S. Lewis and Tolkien, and gives an interesting analysis on their works…JPF has referenced this book for many yrs in the vidchats…just another avenue if your interested. -
