So good to see everyone. Report from Austin. My area has had no power (or internet) since early Sunday evening with freezing temperatures, snow and ice. I cannot listen to Carmina Burana. I find it dark, heavy, and oppressive. This is the only piece of music that affects me this way … strange …-
Yes, it does have that affect as well. Perhaps it’s the change in tempo and scale that appeals to me. I do find the lyrics unappealing. Thanks for your input Margaret.

Yes, excellent independent reporting and I especially like Fridays when Doug Henningson is on. They often reference Joseph’s reports, recently in December with the funny New Hampshire Libertarian bears story. They’re worth supporting.-

Looks like the page design has changed, ‘cleaner’ looking. But the type is smaller. I have to increase point size to read the posts and esp. the replies which are even smaller. The icons are much larger, easier to see. Anyone else seeing such changes here?

My old tired eyes required change of type on my screen about 2 months ago- larger for EVERYTHING. Also got blue blocker clip ons for my computer glasses…

Your eyes sound like my waistline – or, rather, where my waistline used to be!

Blue light blockers are great. I also use dark themes for all my text editors, readers, and a dark theme extension for my browser. Seeing white font on a black background is much easier for my eyes than black font on a white background. All that white being hurled out of the screen right into my retinas gives me headaches/fatigue after a while.

Margaret, thanks for that callout. I went ahead and nudged forward one of the next edits which boosted the font size. It’s now actually responsive, so font-size will flow with the size of device screen. Should be a bit easier to read. Also, if one has a mac, pinch and zoom is enabled at giza. Even on a laptop!

I find the new font more readable, not less.

San serif fonts ARE easier – no little extra foot or top to make it “busier”. Helvetica is what they get you to use in architecture school for that reason.

Yes the new font likes like that used in my optometrist’s office. With recent purchase of new glasses there is much more clarity in my world.
