That was interesting. At the end of September 2016 South Australia was hit by wild weather and destructive storms with the result that the whole state lost power for 8-9 hours. The destruction of vital power lines, problems with the inter-connector and a faulty re-start procedure for the grid were ultimately blamed as the contributing to the calamity. I wasn’t able to go to work and stayed at home that evening with candles, bottles of wine and a radio (it was enjoyable). In some places power wasn’t restored for a few days. What was disconcerting was that, a couple of days later, I heard a news report about the fate of embryos stored at 2 IVF clinics. Emergency generators had failed and they weren’t able to be transferred to hospital storage in time so the embryos perished (“became non-viable”). I wondered whether this was the design all along; that some force from the future was retroactively ensuring that one or two future people were not born…makes you think , doesn’t it ?
