And it pays to be careful of offending them because they remember you and will attack you or cause you grief endlessly after that. I had friends who would scare them out of their backyard trees with an air rifle which was a horrendous mistake – they were twice as bad after that when they called in their friends to join the vendetta.

One of the ways the Federal government has an upper-hand over State’s rights to self-govern will be the Feds ability to halt some funds going to support education spending for Montana. The court system overall has some level of corruption, that could lead to problems for States that defy orders coming from the Federal level.-

Good question… The federal government would probably say no, and some state legislatures would probably say yes. I think the authority of states vis-à-vis the federal government will, in the coming years, once again become a major controversy in the U.S.

States rights or the antifederalist philosophy is about the only avenue left to seek relief from DC’s wacky micromanagerial busy bodies. The other is flat out ignore them with non-compliance.
