Does anyone on this website know what a Thorium Breeder reactor is?

A Breeder Reactor creates more fissile material than it consumes. It would be a good way to make Nuclear power a renewable power source. Thorium has a half life that’s as long as the age of the Universe (free useless fact of the day :))…but isnt used midely as fuel.. I dont know why.. might just be production costs are cheaper for Uranium..

Oh no, are they really going to make Thorium toothpaste.
The French Connection. One of the sources of thorium and uranium is Gabon, the (former?) French African territory. Which obviously “enjoys” French military protection for the French-State-controlled mining industry there.
