It is possible to start with Eco if one has a mind with a voracious hunger to know. Consider reading the following and see how you feel about reading Eco: https://monoskop.org/images/b/b3/Eco_Umberto_Semiotics_and_the_Philosophy_of_Language_1986.pdf

I have spent more time reading and rereading certain sections of Dr. Farrell’s 9/11 book. My mind will not rest.

Having finished Dr. Farrell’s recent book on ‘9/11’, I observe that if I wore a wig it would have flown up in the air, flipped 33 times, and slammed back on my head on fire.

This sees to have become a Anglophone vs. Francophone battle. The boy has the firm support of many scholars in the Francophone world and many detractors from the Anglophone world.
Many on the French side think the Americans are hiding something there. There is also a call for the use of deep ground penetrating scans to be employed or…[Read more]

I observe with interest the very swift smashing down of the story: http://www.wired.com/2016/05/long-lost-mayan-city-teen-found-isnt-lost-city/
This is one of those events that reminds me of the initial response to the finding that Egyptian monuments corresponded to astronomical location data for the constellations especially Osiris (Orion). I…[Read more]

Latest report from field archaeologists familiar with the area is that the features seen are either abandoned cornfields or a marijuana operation … too bad, the young man had his 15 minutes of fame.

I had a nice discussion today with some old friends. Our planned topic was Russellian scientific theory. It turned into ‘Why Einstein Is Wrong”. Good fun.

” ‘Science’ here has very little to do with the scientific method itself; it means ontological physicalism, not believing in our Lord Jesus Christ, hating the spectrally stupid, and, more than anything, pretty pictures of nebulae and tree frogs. ‘Science’ comes to metonymically refer to the natural world, the object of science; it’s like desc…[Read more]

My strictly personal observation on the deformation of education in the English-speaking world is that the education plans of the Nefarium have always begun in New Zealand and then spread to the rest of the English-speaking world via California’s education policies adapted from the initial plan in EnZed.

Islam IS the problem. It has come as a great shock to me to realise I now believe that the only hope for a non-Islamic nation is to declare itself a no-go-zone for Muslims and to tear down the mosques … as Angola has done.
-
Yes I hate to say it but I agree. But it is also important to remember that many do not really know this about their religion.
-
It is also to be noted that there have been Muslims in this country since almost the founding of the Republic. And yet, equally, many of the founding fathers were also aware of its dangers. Jefferson I believe, among others, cautioned about it.
