FTM … Look closely at the images on the cover sheet. Notice the position of the diamond on the head … follow the line over to the text. “Extending Man’s Intellect”
Hmmmm. The larger diamond image below the heads and text contains the logos of the three groups mentioned below the large diamond image. The message? Computers and computing…[Read more] -

that find their way into our discussions. There are several of these front matters available online. A few of the papers referred to in these documents can be found online.

… since we sometimes tilt theological (as well as political) around here … see Ched Myer’s book Binding the Strong Man: A Political Reading of Mark’s Story of Jesus. I enjoy reading Myer’s work, but am always sure to have a full salt shaker nearby.

Let me try the first sentence above again …. Maybe those we burn at the stake are burned not so much because their “content” is inflammatory but are burned because they are, as Husserl might say, recognized as “living embodiments.”
Apologies, it is early morning here and I simply have not ingested enough sugar and caffeine at this point to cons…[Read more] -

in reply to BlakeCosmos above … Maybe those we burn at the stake are burned not so much whose “content” is inflammatory but are burned instead because they are, as Husserl might say, recognized as “living embodiments.”
These living embodiments manifest, again borrowing from Husserl, what he calls the “eidetic attitude.” God forbid that any…[Read more]-

… I missed that as well. Similar activities have been going on for some time. (see Mike Romano, Virtual Book Burning in Wired – 09-01-99) If the removal of titles from Amazon (A Piece of Blue Sky and The Committee) is Virtual Book Burning isn’t the “deplatforming” of individuals a virtual form of being burned at the stake? … Just wondering…[Read more]

Our time of Innocence appears to be coming to an end … “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? And when I am for myself, what am ‘I’? And if not now, when?”
It is time it seems to do the work, as Dr Farrell has entreated us many times, to own the culture.-
And for those without a more specifically artistic bent, there is so much that anyone can do in the social and economic spheres (which are in themselves culturally and thus cosmologically driven) as C.A. Fitts has been pointing out time and again in response to the question “and what can I do?”.

Starting with clear, proper use of your own language. Corporate scams are always hidden in the “fine print”….

I’ll go out on the far end end of the branch here and engage in a little HOS (copyright J. P. Farrell, 2018).
From all recent indications the title of the book would appear to be something along the lines of “Die Philosophie und Metaphysik von Affektenlehre”. A totally abductive move on my part and fitting here, I think, as most logicians and Cog…[Read more] - Load More
