Own “The Reign of Quanti ty and the Sign of the Times,” as well as “Crisis of the Modern World.” Read these in the late ’70s, and they were somewhat influential. Thank you.

I changed browsers a few few weeks back and am rid of the near perpetual trouble I had been having in being an active member here and in viewing you tube content recommended by fellow members and/or pertaining to our gracious host.

Just an example of “data obfuscation,” … heh … heh … heh …
Seriously, I have successfully used Margaret’s link twice within the past 20 minutes.
Now that I know the subject of the Trinity has been discussed, I have to find THAT program.-
maybe its unavailable in certain countries? I would really like to listen to it though….

I don’t watch any of the you tube videos because I don’t have a good internet connection at home, but I DO convert them to MP3s and listen to them in the car to and from work. I use “3(double u)dot clipconverter dot com” all the time.
-
Can you elaborate Bluewren? I’m trying to minimize my exposure to wifi, emfs, etc. I listen online too much. How do I download to MP3 for iPhone or iPad?
-
Hi yes, I used this website to convert all of the webinars, vidchats, and dialogues into MP3: http://www.clipconverter.cc/
I don’t know how you would go about downloading to an iPad or iPhone though. If you have an iMac, you might be able to download it to your desktop and then transfer it to iTunes to have it on your playlist. I use Apple…[Read more]

Quite fine, Dana. Too bad Heinichen wasn’t as long-lived as Telemann.
My kid brothers used to rib me over my “ARCHIV PRODUKTION” vinyl records. 🙂 -

Originally wanted to post Alessandro Scarlatti’s “Messa di Santa Cecilia,” for Saint Cecilia’s Day (today) but couldn’t find a version I cared for that was posted completely in one link.
“Papa” (Alessandro) Scarlatti is egregiously overlooked.-
I totally agree. Scarlatti, Graupner, Brescianello, Kirnberger, Homilius, Kuhnau et al, it’s a long, long list.

At 03.50hrs, I have not long finished work, it’s a warm, humid, stormy night in Adelaide; lightening and a weird spagyric frisson in the night air. I have a glass of wine and a cigar…
Hail! Bright Cecilia, hail to thee

Musical selection for November 22.

Perhaps Joe the organist would also like to hear The Magnificat from Buxtehude (German Baroque Organist)

Interesting to see them working the stops

Telemann, often overlooked for someone so prolific…

While Dana was posting this, I was reading about an interesting encounter, circa 1983, between Ms. Howe and Richard Doty (of AFOSI) as described by Richard M. Dolan in “UFO’s and the National Security State: The Cover-Up Exposed, 1973-1991,” Chapter 5.
Coincidence. 😉 - Load More
