Italian elections: while still awaiting definitive results, within the centre-right electoral grouping, the anti-euro League, seems to have got as many or more votes than Berlusconi’s EU-oriented party. Contrary to most of the opinion polls. Now it will be hard to ape a Merkel-like Berlin-Brussels oriented coalition governemnt and, as Joseph has suggested, this could give a serious jolt to Merkel’s precarious position.

Thanks for the update Dana
These elections won’t be settled over-night, a couple of weeks is the norm for the Italian parliament to get it’s act together, and anything could happen between now and then.
Could also be a couple of months with a “caretaker” government as the oligarchs try to regroup…
I hope that the eurosceptic parties can form a coalition!
