Eurovision. I love it; my favourite time of the year, a chance for post-war European politics to meld with crappy popularism and bad fashion. I am a devotee, for good or bad, and with many a drunken appreciation for the cheesy and downright embarrassing spectacle of try-hard melodic merit and faux sincerity. I am an unabashed fan. This year’s winner performed a “song” concerned with the pernicious effects of bullying and the marginalization of non-conforming feminist whingers. And thus is it ever always the great charm of Eurovision to champion the quirk and disenfranchised meddlers… Still, I love it because it thrust ABBA onto the non-Swedish world some decades ago, and for that some of us may be eternally thankful and confused. “Waterloo” was never a song about relationships but about the post-Napoleanic construction of a European trajectory into the 19th century. (But that’s another story). My concern today is that the winner of yesterday’s competition said that the 2019 Eurovision festival would be held in Jerusalem, not Tel Aviv. And that is cause for some bemusement, if not, downright suspicion.

Ahahahaha I avoid it like the plague!
oh god… I actually listened to some of this…
perhaps she was channeling cosmic blue chickens ?
if you watch the Isrealien video again.. start at about 0:10 but turn OFF the sound… and play this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17vFHKwq8B8 . it works.. Eurovision Song contest is what Europe would be doing if the Nazi’s had won the wa…. Mein GOTT!!
Makes sense. Israel was populated by Europeans since its inception. It is part of Europe, like it or not. It is a colonial outpost like South Africa used to be, but based on Jewish-supremacy instead. The whole of Europe adopted a second-hand Jewish religion (dubbed Christianity) and suffered immensely because of it. Europe, Israel, are one and the same, except for religious militancy being state policy in Israel, while religious militancy is more of a covert activity by Europeans and Americans to bastardize what is left of non-semitic culture by spreading their second hand Jewish religion down the throat of buddhists, atheists, and so on. Romans used religion as a tool of expansion and penetration into other countries, not realizing that adopting non-European semitic values made Europe no different from Arabia or Judea. I find it ridiculous that so many Europeans identify with an alien semitic culture, in the same way that I find it ridiculous for Iranians to identify with another alien semitic meme (called Islam). Europe was only saved by getting rid of some of that crap with the Renaissance and Age of Enlightenment. Sorry if I offended any believers here, but I hold the same position against Islam & Judaism as I do towards Christianity. Perhaps Orthodox christianity is more philosophical, less semitic, more Greek, as Dr. Farrell seems to imply. But it still wears semitic garb. Europeans are, like Iranians, bastardized people who have been forcefed a diet of tribal memes from Arabia & Judea.
Now that is one of the most interesting comments I have ever evinced.
I like Dr. Farrell’s idea that hermeticism was behind the Renaissance … and also Baroque music (which is arguably more conducive to peace of mind, than most classical music) … need to dig deeper. Provide links if you can 🙂
I suppose my concern relates chiefly to the global televisualized event that is Eurovision, and to the fact that whenever a country wins the competition the winning country’s official capital city hosts the forthcoming event. Jerusalem isn’t the capital of Israel. It’s a cipher for I’m not sure what, but I wonder if it has anything to do with Christian dispensationialism. If there is to be such a competition next year I wonder how the orthodox Lihudists will deal with all the gay men and non-believers ? Frankly, if someone offered me a ticket I wouldn’t attend. Israel and its golem America can’t be trusted.
Interesting. Jerusalem is not something I care about one way or another. It is the capital of bullshit tribal memes invented by desert wanderers who had nothing better to do in their desert tents than read bed time stories from their storybook of semitic mythology called Bible or Koran, which glorifies all the evil done by desert wanderers and professional thieves & murderers on behalf of the demiurge, and blame their defeats on disobedience from the demiurge. I would like to see a nuke dropped on Jerusalem and another on Mecca, to signal the end of the demiurge’s reign on earth. 😉
Samael the Demiurge would probably be in favour of nukes in any case, except that to rob Him of a locus vivendi; a place (or two) of power would seem to be an act of self-mutilation; a sacrifice of one or two limbs of his body-corporate.
As far as I am concerned (and I am not so concerned about JERUSALEM) Mecca should be nuked, but not to kill people or animals … unfortunately, a little plant and microbial life will perish, but nuking Mecca is a necessity (not its inhabitants). The site has to be made radioactive so that no one ever comes back to perform their satanic dance around a black meteorite representing the gods of the arabian peninsula. The filthy rulers of Saudi are cashing in on huge tourism remittances from all over the world from hapless & stupid people who come to dance around a silly black stone, but effectively are dancing around and throwing money at the filthy Saudis. Mecca should be nuked for sure. You can keep Jerusalem if you like, up to you 😉
As long as Mecca & Jerusalem are around, you can bet the demiurge is still around the corner 😉 I am speaking metaphorically, of course. And the real problems are the ideas not the sacred temples or cities, but those cities are very symbolic of something not KOSHER to my taste, perhaps globalism under the aegis of some kind of satanic cult 😉 I am kidding.
aaahhhh… the GDS.. where you can go from Eurovision song contests to nuking Mecca in 3 comments.. you just cant buy better entertainment elsewhere..
Yeah, but I did not mean it as a joke. I really think Mecca (after its inhabitants are evacuated) should be nuked, for the good of mankind. I would do the same for Jerusalem, but since I am neither Jewish nor Christian nor Arab, I leave it up to those most affected by Jerusalem to decide what they want to do 😉
I watched it all and was completely stunned how this fruit-loop and her techno-babble rubbish could possibly have won over a handful of much better songs. This was a political message to Israel “Go ahead, we got your back “. Utterly disgusting. And for the record, I think Australia’s song was the best out of the lot.
Another possibility is that both Europeans and some Americans (not Evangelicals & Baptists for sure) are fed up with Israeli bullying and arrogance. They realize that creating Israel in the heart of the Arab & Muslim world has outlived its usefulness (as a colonial outpost) and is creating more headaches than benefits for the West. Because like a baby it needs Daddy Sam’s constant protection and nurturing to survive, and that is a big burden when you are dealing with 500 million arabs (added to the muslims) surrounding this little statelet. Since the West has been allied with Jewry and cannot openly confront it (without jeopardizing politicians’ own skin and economic interests of countries) … it has decided to LET THEM FLY. Give them wings to fly and see what they can do. It is a last chance for Israel and die-hard Zionists: TRUMP is here to give them absolute power for a while and see what they can do. Most likely they will fail to fly and fall on the ground. And then the Western politicians can say to Zionists: see we did our best to save you, but you messed up by abusing your power and making the general public dislike you more and more… so BYE BYE Israel. I would say Trump might even be on board: let Sheldon Adelson nuke Iran, and let Israel deal with the consequences, and destroy both Iran & Israel in the process. So, all in all, these may be the last days of glory for Israel … before they have to pack and leave, assuming the arabs start attacking them in a few years.
