Started watching a very disturbing documentary on Netflix called Making a Murderer. You might find it of interest. I never did any criminal law, but if I were to start practice again I think I would want to try criminal defense work. I feel passionate about it.

You might check in your area to see if there is an Innocence Project there. Perhaps connected with local law schools? That would be a good place to invest your skills and energy. I’ve heard about that documentary. I plan to watch it.

In Florida we used to let our judges decide the ultimate verdict. Sill had juries but just for show.
My friend is an attorney assigned to a couple of judges in the county court. He writes decisions for judges and is knowledgeable about our state system…let me know if I can forward a question to him.
I cannot watch the documentary …its much to real for my tastes.
