In 1857 the Thames Scramasax was taken out of the river Thames. The sword is engraved with 28 Runes. Since the original Rune poem contains 29 verses, one Rune appears to be missing.
Nevertheless, that is NOT the case, since the 29th Rune is the sword itself. It means, that drawing the sword from the stone, is the conclusion of the Rune poem.…[Read more]
