Yes, I think that was one of the explanations explored at the time. I am not sure if there was any “evidence” but I didn’t explore it in detail. Certainly there were all sorts of speculations about nuclear missiles setting off the tsunami and others about strange pre disaster security fixes.

Energy sector hacks by a hacker group called Dragonfly (of all things). Looks like they have been hacking energy companies for a while (as early as 2011) and they seem to use “publically available tools”. Shadows of stuxnet?
